It was both an honour and a joy to spend my lunch hour exploring morphology with educators during the International Dyslexia Association’s virtual Lunch and Learn webinar. Designed with teachers in mind, this session focused on practical, classroom-ready strategies for teaching morphology and deepening word knowledge across grade levels and subject areas.
This sold-out webinar was the first in a new professional learning series that complements IDA’s updated Structured Literacy infographic—a clear, interactive guide that emphasizes the importance of teaching all domains of oral and written language in an integrated way to build Automaticity, Fluency, and Proficiency. You can find this new resource in the IDA Dyslexia Digital Library.
As a long-time member of IDA, I’m continually inspired by their leadership in the field of Structured Literacy (they even coined the term back in 2014!). I’m excited to see this series grow—upcoming Lunch and Learns will spotlight each domain in the infographic, and additional resources will be released along the way. Stay tuned!
