On September 1st, Liisa returned to Star Academy for a second custom workshop, continuing our exploration of English orthography and Structured Literacy.
It was a pleasure to spend the day with Star Academy’s dedicated, thoughtful, and curious teachers!
Through practical, research-informed activities and real classroom examples, the session explored the fascinating complexities of English orthography and how effective, structured literacy instruction can help set students up for lasting success.
Throughout the day, teachers reflected on their practice, made meaningful connections, and added fresh ideas to their teaching toolkit. The enthusiasm and thoughtful conversations made for a rich day of professional learning—and a wonderful reminder that when teachers are engaged and excited about learning, that energy can flow directly into their classrooms.
