This virtual half-day workshop offered attendees of Lynn Valley school in North Vancouver a clear and comprehensive overview of the Science of Reading and the foundational research behind it. Participants gained an understanding of key terms and concepts essential to the scientific study of language and its structure, dispel common misconceptions about the English language, and explore the core components of Structured Literacy.
The session focused on what Structured Literacy entails, how and when it should be implemented, and the reasons this explicit and systematic approach is increasingly recognized as best practice in language instruction.
