Grammar Workshop 1

This 4-part workshop focuses on building teacher knowledge as well as the application of basic grammar concepts. We will explore how to incorporate this with what you are already doing, beginning with students who have only a very basic knowledge of phoneme-grapheme correspondences and may be only reading simple one-syllable words with short vowels and then see how to apply these strategies and build on this base to teach more advanced concepts.

Introduction to Multisensory Grammar Workshop

Learn the basics of sentence structure, the importance of form and
function, and how to represent grammar concepts with colours and symbols. This is based on using the Montessori Grammar Symbols.

Who should take this ?

Although this course was designed to complement Fundamentals training by Fundamental Learning and is well suited for O-G practitioners who wish to expand their teaching of grammar (syntax and semantics), it is not a prerequisite. Anyone can join!

How long is this workshop?

This is a ten hour workshop typically split into a 4-part series – (4 sessions of 2.5 hours each) plus optional Independent Learning Modules to review the session and supplement your learning.

What materials do I get?

All materials are included!
There are slide packages for each session as well as many supplemental materials to download and print.

Can I retake this workshop?

Past participants are welcome and encouraged to join again!
