Orton-gillingham (O-G) training
All training programs meet or exceed the standards set by the
Orton-Gillingham Academy as well as the International Dyslexia Association Knowledge and Practice Standards.
FUNDAMENTALS
introductory course* – a prerequisite for all O-G training with Fundamental Learning.
Good working knowledge of English is required.
NOTE: Fundamentals is intended as an introduction to the “Science of Reading” and orthographic linguistics, and provides a basic overview of the underlying components and rationale of the Orton-Gillingham approach. Further training is required in order to teach using the Orton-Gillingham approach.

Introduction to Multisensory Grammar – 4-part Workshop series
Prerequisite: none
COURSE COMPLETE
TIME: 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm EDT
Learn the basics of sentence structure,
the importance of form and function,
and how to represent grammar concepts
with colours and symbols.
Designed to complement Fundamentals training by Fundamental Learning and suited for O-G practitioners who wish to expand their teaching of grammar and syntax, but open to anyone who is interested in learning!

Instructor: Liisa Freure M.Ed, OCT, Accredited Training Fellow Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA).
Although no formal degree or diploma is required to take the training, a Bachelor of Arts (or equivalent) is required to apply to the Academy to become a Classroom Educator, Associate, or Certified Member as well as completion of a supervised practicum.
* NOTE: Practicums are to be arranged separately with additional fees. Limited space available.

ALL TRAINING is provided by a Fellow of the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA).
Please note: any training that is not conducted by a Fellow or Fellow-in-Training who is formally registered with the Academy (under the supervision of a Fellow) is not acceptable as training toward OGA membership. You may contact OGA to confirm the membership status of any individuals offering training opportunities.
